Kundalini Yoga Academy
Tradition is not worshiping the ashes but to carry on the fire.
Yoga Alliance Courses, Classes & Trainings
We teach to give Yoga a home. We offer courses that aim to connect to the source of Yoga. We teach classical Kundalini and Hatha Yoga. We connect to the scriptures and the ancient mantras. We aim for heart and spirit.
Two things are necessary to really understand Yoga: knowledge and the heart. The most important one is the heart, but nobody can give this to you. It is up to you to connect with and learn from your heart.
The knowledge, however, is the responsibility of the teacher. Therefore, we give all the knowledge that can be given. We read and interpret the ancient sources. Criticize and learn from them. Practice and discuss. You are welcome to grow!
Why do we do our teacher trainings in English? We assist our students in German and French as well. So it is easy for everyone, but English is a precondition to study the philosophy of Yoga for oneself. Most ancient texts and tantras are exclusively available in Sanskrit and English.
The Yoga Matsya studio is located in the 8th district of Vienna. This place is made for you, to give you a protected space to practice, to grow and to feel the spirit.

“The individual conscious being, as a contraction of universal awareness,
consists of the entire universe in a microcosmic form.”
- Recognition Sutras -
“As one opens the door with a key, so the yogi should open the gate to liberation with the kundalini. The great goddess sleeps, closing with her head the opening through which one can ascend to the brahmarandhra, to that place where there is neither pain nor suffering.”
“In any way one's own self is simply the all-pervasive bliss of freedom and the essence of consciousness.
Absorption into that nature of one's own self is said to be the real bath of purification.”
- Vijnana Bhiarava Tantra -
- Hatha Yoga Pradipika -
